How personal - do I want to be on social?

A famous writer(female) in a podcast I heard a week ago said: Well - just read my books, you'll find everything there.
And I agree. I can't be more personal than I am in my books - thoughts, dreams, angst, trauma.
All in it.

Aber - hey - wozu gibt es Summer reads. Durch einen Podcast habe ich "Book Lovers" Buch von Emily Henry entdeckt. Ich lache beim Lesen. Muss ich mehr sagen?

Für alle, die Nora-Ephron-Filme lieben, den schnellen Witz von intelligenten Autorinnen, Situationskomik, eine schöne Lovestory und mit der englischen Originalfassung klarkommen (die deutsche Übersetzung soll nicht gelungen sein ...) ein heißer Tipp.

Took me a while - but I read a new book.

Ich habe mich sehr gefreut, als der Kanon-Verlag #dermitdemaffen mich zu einer Rezension von DRY von Christine Koschmieder eingeladen hat.

Bücher über das Thema Alkohol gibt es im Moment viele, das Thema ist aktuell, es gibt viele Bücher von Frauen darüber, da Alkoholsucht gerade verstärkt Frauen betrifft. Das liegt wohl auch daran (so eine NDR Doku, die ich auch empfehlen kann) , dass Frauen dem Leidensweg von Männern in Berufen, die stressig, fordernd und unbefriedigend sind folgen
Und dann sind Künster:innen und Drogen, nun, ein eigenes Thema ...

Doch Koschmieder hat einen ganz eigenen Zugang gefunden.

“Dry ist ein Roman, kein Memoir, kein Sachbuch”, schreibt Christine Koschmieder in einer Vornotiz zum Buch und weist ausdrücklich darauf hin, dass die Kinder – die in den Roman sehr viel Raum einnehmen – nicht Oleg, Tillie und Karl heißen. Und widmet es Karenin, Lotta und Mattis. Mit dem Zusatz: Ein paar mehr Antworten, ein paar mehr Fragen.

Der Verlag sagt über das Buch: “ein mutiger autofiktionaler Roman”. Autofiktion interessiert mich. Die Vermischung von Realität, Memoir, Autobiographie und dem Schreibprozess. Denn Leben und Schreiben sind für Autor:innen in der Regel eng miteinander verbunden.

Das Buch liest sich extrem gut und flüssig. Koschmieder hat einen eigenen Sound, knapp, ohne jede Eitelkeit. Manchmal ein wenig harsch sich selbst gegenüber, aber so ehrlich, wie man ehrlich sein kann, wenn man sich selbst beobachtet.

Ein gut geschriebenes Buch von einer Autorin, die das Schreiben versteht. Dieses Buch kann ich sofort empfehlen, insbesondere, wenn einen das Thema interessiert.

Und doch bleiben für mich einige Fragen offen, die sowohl die Ausführung, den Umgang mit dem Thema als auch die Einordnung in die Gegenwartsliteratur betreffen.

Also - This summer is amazing. And I enjoy it. Sunny and warm (and without thinking to much about climate change),Ilove the daily swims in the nearby lake and coffee time in one of the many gardens in Potsdam.

My private blog is in a deep sleep, but I launghed a lot of new blog articles on Red Bug Culture. Mostly for our Patreons. This is a new adventure -let's see were it takes me.

And - of course - every Sunday we are having our Kunstsalon on Clubhous. One Artwork, one artist and one hour to talk about it.

I realize there is a lot going on.

Hope, you all are well and happy - seems the most important thing in the moment and in life.💛

I have two little trees. One with lemons, the other with oranges. They died over the winter. Lost all their leaves. This two trees were strange. I had the felling, they want to be near each other because they got very long branches to reach over.

But -
I discoverd a new author.

Nina Lykke has a great writing style. Very smooth and intelligent, a rare mixture.

Her literary themes include elements of dark satire mixed with humour and tragedy.

She is a bestsellereng author in Norway and I'm really surprised that I have never heard of her before. I stumbled upon her book in the library and loved the cover and the blurb.

"Natural Causes",( in German: Alles wird gut") is about "Elin", who is a doctor and has been married to "Axel" for two decades. She finds everything turned upside down when her ex "Bjørn" appears on Facebook.

She moves into her doctor's office in an absurd cohabitation with the plastic skeleton "Tore", with whom she has interesting dialogues. Thematics in the novel include infidelity, dissolution of marriage, and decadence of the middle class.
There is a very unexpected end. Fun to read :)

"No one can sense the undercurrents of a populace better than a general practitioner. I’ve seen it all, gluten free, lactose free, sugar free, the online or print headlines trying to make healthy people think that everything is going to fall into place if only they’ll stop eating bread or cheese. Middle-agers who don’t get why they’re always so tired. It’s because you’re starting to get old, I tell them, but they don’t think aging applies to them, just as death doesn’t apply to them either. They think they’re the exception."
